Grandparents Day
We marked the celebration of Grandparents day by welcoming in the grandparents of our community for Grandparents Mass with Fr. Mc Mahon. The children read out prayers of the faithful especially for their Grandparents, remembering those who are sick, in hospital or who are gone to God. Two children from the senior class also read a Communion Reflection in praise of Grandparents.
We had a cup of tea after the mass and took some lovely photos of Grandparents with their grandchildren.

Nativity Play
Well done to all of the children from Attymon N.S. for their fantastic performance of the Nativity. The acting, singing and of course the recorder playing was exceptional. Thanks to all the parents who were in the position to help with rehearsals in the lead up to the play.
G.S.P.C.A. Visits Attymon N.S.
We were delighted today to welcome Katie and Emma, along with their four-legged companions Tessa and Cealy from the G.S.P.C.A. to visit us today.
Tessa is a cocker-spaniel and Cealy is a greyhound. We learned lots from Emma and Katie, including how to look after our pets, the great work they do in the G.S.P.C.A. and the importance message they gave to us i.e. 'Adopt not shop'.
We also learned that greyhounds make great pets, they are regular 'couch potatoes' and are fantastic family pets.
We were very proud to present our over-flowing hamper to the G.S.P.C.A., the contents of which had been gathered by the children. Tessa had already picked a ball out of the hamper and was determined to hang onto it, as you can see from the pictures. Cealy was also eager to dig in to the hamper. Can you spot that picture?

Liam McCarthy Cup Visits Attymon NS
We were very lucky to have the Liam McCarthy Cup visit our school. The children were delighted to be able to hold the cup and share in the historic event of Galway winning the All-Ireland Hurling final 2017! It was a joyous occasion and will be remembered by all the children. Hopefully we'll see the Liam Mc Carthy cup back again this time next year.
