School ICT Culture.
There is strong evidence of the commitment to digital technology in Attymon. The school participates in projects such as Discover Primary Science which involves Skyping the engineers who collaborated on their project, interviewing and recording the water engineer and using digital technology to graph the data. The school also participates in the Green Schools Project, Science Week, Active School Flag etc. The school has published a website. The website is updated regularly and features pupils’ work. Both teachers update the website. The children from third to sixth class know how to upload photographs. They write up the relevant text at home and gmail it to the school. They also gmail blogs. Digital technology is seen as highly effective for school administration and as a means of communicating with the parent body.

Catherine From R.S.A. Comes To Visit.
On Thursday, the 2nd of March, Catherine from the Road Safety Authority came to our school to talk to us about road safety. She showed us a power point presentation and told us some interesting facts. We learned a lot and we participated in a fun quiz at the end of her presentation. We hope Catherine will come back and talk to us again next year.
Spring is in the air!
Spring has arrived in our school garden. Take a look at this beautiful Cherry Blossom tree that is starting to bloom on our school grounds. There are lovely yellow daffodils in our garden also. The birds are singing and lambs are being born on the farms. What a beautiful time of year!

Green School Masterclass with Gordon D'Arcy.
On Tuesday the 22nd of November, some of us went to Loughrea Library for a masterclass in drawing with Gordon D'Arcy. It was a great experience. He showed us how to draw the Red Wing and Field Fare birds and also the Salmon and Eel. He made it look so easy! We did a really good job on our drawings. Check out the Green Schools page to see them. Our Climate Change and Travel posters were also on display there. We researched the history of travel and the effects of pollution on our atmosphere.
