Active Schools Week - June 2021
All- Ireland Chess Championships
Here in Attymon, we are so proud of the 5th and 6th class students in the senior room who took part in the Comhar Linn Schools Chess Championships. One of our 6th class pupils came 3rd in the Novice competition, receiving a bronze All-Ireland medal and winning 5 tournament chess sets for the school. See the talented chess players pictured below!
In the month of May - We plant seeds!
The children enjoyed planting lettuce, shallots and radish in our school garden. They learned the correct planting technique and carefully watered the seeds with a watering can. Over the next few weeks they will monitor what they have planted and hopefully they will start to see some growth.
Some children also planted pumpkins, that we hope to have for Halloween later on this year!

Pizza Party
We had our very own Pizza Party in Attymon NS! We had yummy pizzas from Supermacs because we won their Halloween Colouring Competition. We were very lucky to have the winner of this competition in our school (Pictured in the first picture below). Have a look at us enjoying our pizza!
Halloween in Attymon
This year we went on our annual 'Spooky Walk'. The children dressed up in their costumes for the day and everyone really enjoyed the walk. Flick through the slideshow to see the spooky costumes worn!
Maths Week 2020
The children had a very busy Maths Week in Attymon NS. They watched Maths Week TV shows, completed an indoor and outdoor maths trail and took part in the Maths Week Olympiad. The Maths Week Olympiad is a competition where the children complete a set of maths questions and activities and receive a certificate at the end. We had lots of fun during Maths Week 2020!
